I use this as integer to conveniently count the total number of denoised
neighboring blocks like following:
"metrics_[mb_index + 1].denoise +
 metrics_[mb_index - 1].denoise +
 metrics_[mb_index + mb_cols].denoise +
 metrics_[mb_index - mb_cols].denoise <= 2"
